The theme of the evening was “Soaring to New Heights” and the many Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce members reflected it with their praise of the organization and fellow members during the 63rd annual banquet at the Paws and Taws Fulton Convention Center Monday, July 23.
Lynda Pouyer, owner of Seaworthy Marine Supply, was first introduced by Jack Britton as Small Business of the Year and moments later introduced by Brian Olsen as Chamber Member of the Year. Olsen recalled Pouyer’s work on the new Chamber of Commerce building. “We all remember her diligent work to make the building project a reality,” Olsen said. “Many of you remember her famous words, ‘Don’t tell me no, tell me how.’” He listed her work with Wounded Warriors, many women’s outdoor events and recently the Yak Attack fishing tournament benefitting Camp Aranzazu. Noting her strong commitment to the Town of Fulton, Olsen joked, “If she had her way, I think she would change the name of the chamber to Fulton-Rockport Chamber of Commerce.”
All of us here at Seaworthy Marine could not be more proud of Lynda’s accomplishments, not only with the Chamber, but how successful Seaworthy has become.
